North Georgia Fall Festivals for 2018
One of the best things about living where we do in Gainesville and Northeast Georgia is that we get to experience four distinct seasons. With fall approaching, I'm ready to hit some festivals. I constantly get asked about a comprehensive list of all the festivals. So I thought I would compile a list of my favorites. One of my favorites that not many people have heard of is The Indian Summer Festival in Suches, held annually the first full weekend in October. So if you haven't been to that one, add it to your calendar for this year.
Another one I hate to miss is the Mountain Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, held annually the last weekend in October. It's a three day event starting on Friday with a Moonshine Run (for cars, not runners), a car show with swap meet and a parade.
And I have to mention Mule Camp Market, held here in Gainesville annually the second weekend of October with fun for the whole family. It will be held this year, October 12 - 14 on the downtown square in Gainesville. Local artisans will offer their crafts and goods. A petting zoo, live entertainment and tasty food vendors make this one you'll want to visit with the whole family.
Another one of my all-time favorites is the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival in Hiawassee on the shores of Lake Chatuge at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. It goes on for over a week with entertainment, the most fabulous arts and crafts vendors (I love the pottery) and also a lovely flower show. This year's dates are October 12-20. We have a home on the Hiwassee River that's available for rental via Airbnb. See link below.
Since we live directly across from the Lake Lanier Olympic Park, I'll tell you about an exciting history making event that you don't want to miss. The 2018 ICF Dragon Boat World Championship will take place September 12-16. The opening ceremony is free and will kick off with live entertainment and food trucks at 5 pm on Wednesday, September 12. Gainesville-Hall County is the first location in the Americas to hold this world-renowned competition.

If you are considering buying or selling a home in Northeast Georgia, contact me for a consultation. As natives of this area, Selling North Georgia Since 1988, helping you find home, whether it's a purchase or sale, is what we do. We live and work at Lake Lanier. I work with husband, David Stovall, my mother, Joyce Waters and sister Kayla Shoemake. Seeing homes and property from the water side adds a vantage point some buyers don't get the opportunity to see.

ReplyDeletereal drawback to townhomes is that they can cost as much or the same as a regular detached family house. so it comes down to why spend money on a townhouse, when you can have your own little yard and such for the same price.
