Furnished Rental Home Near Lake Lanier Olympic Venue

A common request we see as Realtors is the need for a short term rental. Sometimes it's a family who needs a short term home between the sale of one home and purchase of the next. With a growing and diverse economy in Northeast Georgia, we see many new hires locate here briefly until the family arrives at a later date. Companies based in other countries often send employees to this area for a short time of a few months. Most often, an extended stay hotel is the only choice available. Visit our website and keep it handy for your friends who may need a place to stay: EdgewaterGuestHouse.com

When our neighbors (who built the house) decided to relocate to be near their grandchildren, we decided to purchase the home in the event my mom ever wants to be nearby.  (She just lives 20 minutes north of here near Clermont on some acreage, and I think she prefers it that way). In the meantime, we are offering it to our friends from around the world when visiting the area, and also to others who may need a place for a short term stay. With Northeast Georgia Medical Center just five minutes away, it is a great spot for families of patients who want to stay nearby.

The home is just a short walk to Lake Lanier Olympic Park and Clarks Bridge Park on Lake Lanier, and just a short drive to Laurel Park and Don Carter State Park on Lake Lanier.  In fact, I rented our home next door to the US Rowing team during the 96 Summer Olympics.

The sunset views over Lake Lanier are amazing year round. The front porch is a perfect spot for relaxing with coffee in the morning or enjoying an evening sunset. This three bedroom/two bath home will easily accommodate five or six guests with a total of four beds (a queen in the master bedroom, twin beds in second bedroom and a full-size bed in the third bedroom). Flat screen televisions are in two of the bedrooms and the great room has a large flat screen television. The well-equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare and cook meals from home if you like.  Next to the kitchen is a laundry room with pantry space, washer and dryer.

Enjoy year-round sunset views from the rocking chair front porch.

Great neighborhood for walking. Just a short walk to Lake Lanier Olympic Park and Lake Lanier Clarks Bridge Park with a beach and picnic tables next to the US Olympic Boathouse site.
Lake Lanier Olympic Park hosts many regattas throughout the year.

You may elect to eat out, with so many close by restaurants.  Here are a few of our favorites:  Poor Richard's (be sure and go in the back door if you like a relaxed, casual sports bar atmosphere) for fine dining with steaks and seafood or a laid back sports bar atmosphere with great burgers and appetizers; Blue Fin for sushi, hibachi and Asian food; Senor Fiesta is the best local Mexican restaurant and is close by at the new Kroger. The close by Double D Burger is a great lunch spot serving not only burger fare but also southern home cooking with assorted meats like fried chicken, steak and gravy and vegetables. If you want home delivery, visit online Loco's Grill or Request Delivery to have food (or groceries) delivered from anywhere. Public transportation is not accessed until you are closer to town (near J & J Foods about a mile up the road). But you can typically get a ride easily with Lyft or Uber.

Walking in this neighborhood is always scenic.
Downtown Gainesville is always scenic.
The close by downtown Gainesville square is a beautiful spot with many great restaurants and boutiques.

Nearby Jaemor Farms is a place you don't want to miss.  Open year-round, the boiled peanuts are the best here.

If you enjoy a walk in the woods, you'll love Don Carter State Park. Don Carter State Park is Georgia's newest state park and just 7 miles away. It is Lake Lanier's first and only state park with a large beach, bath house, gift shop and miles of walking trails. Also, there are covered shelters for group cookouts and gatherings. It is one of my favorite places for walking or kayaking.
